Party Sets Date of 18th Party Congress, Sina and Baidu Stop Censoring Searches for "18th Big"

On September 28, 2012, China's official news agency Xinhua published a report stating: "The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is proposed to convene on Nov. 8 in Beijing."

For several months Baidu and Sina Weibo have been censoring searches related the Congress, for example "18th Big" (十八大 - as the Chinese refer to it as the "18th Big Meeting"). These screenshots, taken on July 20 and September 30, show that after the Party had made its formal announcement those websites started returning uncensored search results.
